Officer Nicholas "Nick" Piberius Wilde is the first fox officer of the Zootopia Police Department. Originally, Nick dreamed of joining the local Junior Ranger Scouts for the goal of receiving genuine acceptance. However, during the initiation, the other scouts ridiculed, brutally beaten, and muzzled him, due to their stereotype that foxes are sly and untrustworthy. Because of this, Nick not only accepted it but embraced it, subsequently doing so by becoming a successful con artist with Finnick as his partner in crime. During one of his schemes, he gets confronted by Judy Hopps, a ZPD officer, where she blackmails him into helping her solve the missing mammals case. During the investigation, he confess his cynical attitude came from his childhood, where he also starts to ease up on her due to her being treated unfairly because she's a rabbit.
Finding all the fifteen missing mammals, Nick felt betrayed by Judy's statement of predators reverting to their savage ways through biology, where not only it broken their friendship but also his consideration for joining the ZPD. When Judy came back to Zootopia after figuring out the cause was Night Howlers, Judy and Nick recoil. Later, the duo discovered it was Bellwether behind the conspiracy. Tricking her into revealing her plot and getting arrested, Nick is welcome as the first fox officer in the police force.
Nick is the son of Mrs. Wilde.
When Nick joined the police force, he was taken in as Judy's partner.
After being mutated, he, Judy, Finnick, the ZPD, and most of the citizens of Zootopia pledged their loyalty to the Young Family.
- Nick Wilde is a charming, small-time, con artist fox with a big mouth and a lot of opinions. But when a rabbit cop outsmarts him, he finds himself actually helping her solve a mystery.
