Agent Jack Baer is an FBI agent. Jack was partaking in the investigation of a shootout on the Tanager between three criminals and two different mobsters in San Pedro Bay of San Pedro, Los Angeles. Agent Baer went to interrogate one of the two survivors, Arkosh Kovash, an Hungarian mobster who's being hospitalized with severe burns and broken ribs when the ship he was on was set on fire whom the latter reveals to be Keyser Söze. Jack than headed to the San Pedro Police Department to learn more about Söze from Roger "Verbal" Kint, the other survivor of the shootout, with the aid of Special Agent Dave Kujan and Sergeant Jeffrey "Jeff" Rabin.
Upon returning to Kovash, Jack had one of the San Pedro police officers to sketch Keyser's portrait from Arkosh's description. Upon the sketch being faxed to Kujan, the sketch rendering Söze resembles Verbal, but it was too late for Kujan to catch him as Keyser/Verbal was driven off into a car drove by Mr. Kobayashi.
As of in 2011, Agent Baer partakes in the investigation of a massacre upon hearing about Söze's involvement with the Anti-Hunters, along with Special Agent Dave Kujan and Sergeant Jeffrey "Jeff" Rabin.
