Ben Willis got his arm torn off in the first film. In the second film, he uses his hook, to commit the murders in the prequel, to replace his amputated arm.
In the second film, it's revealed that Benjamin had a son named William Willis, who took Will Benson, as an alias.
- The alias name also gave hints before he gave it away to Julie.
  - Benson - Ben's son.
  - Will - Last name, Willis.
The survivors from the previous films died later in the series.
- Benjamin "Ben" Willis - I Know What You Did Last Summer to I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.
  - It's unknown if the attack of Julie James was real or just another nightmare, its also unknown if it happened to Ray Bronson.
In the third film, Ben's memory is made an urban legend.
- When P.J. was accidentally killed, his friends covered up their secret. This lead to Ben coming back, as a ghost, to kill the ones who are responsible and the ones who got personally involved.
In an attempt to kill Ray, he moved and Ben, inadvertently, stabs Will.
All three movies feature the holiday, Fourth of July.
- The holiday is a symbol of Benjamin Willis' killing spree.
