Burnham is a blue-collar worker who designs panic rooms for a living. Burnham is one of the three robbers who attempted to rob a four-story brownstone on the Upper West Side of New York City, the other two were Junior, the previous owner's grandson, and Raoul, who was recruited by Junior. Unlike the other two, Burnham has his own morals, he's rally a gentle individual, the only reason he partake in the robbery is to give his child a better life.
Burnham seems to get along with Junior to some extend but Raoul is another, giving their opposite personalities conflicting with the robbery. After witnessing him shooting Junior, who gives up on the robbery and about to leave the house, and forced him at gunpoint, to finish the robbery.
Cracking the hidden safe in the panic room, Burnham and Raoul discovered twenty-two bearer bonds, which is worth $22 million. However, given the circumstances of Raoul about to kill Meg, Sarah, and Stephen, Brunham heads back and shoots him. Unfortunately, as the police arrived and apprehend him, he lets go of the bearer bonds, which flies away into the wind.
Some time after, Burnham was captured by the Anti-Hunters and became one of the survivors.
