Arkosh Kovash was a Hungarian mobster. Kovash was one of the two survivors of a shootout on the Tanager between the mobsters of the Hungarians and Argentinians, and three criminals from New York, the other being Roger "Verbal" Kint. When most of the people on the boat were killed, Arkosh witness Dean Keaton being shot by a mysterious figure while in hiding. When the mysterious figure sets the boat on fire, Kovash survived only to be hospitalized with severe burns over 60% of his body and number of his ribs broken. When the shootout was being under investigation, he was interrogated by FBI agent, Jack Baer, where he reveals the guy who did this was Keyser Söze.
In truth, the Hungarians met up to buy a member of their mob from the Argentinians, Arturo Marquez, another Hungarian mobster and one who knows who Keyser Söze. Söze planned this by setting up Dean Keaton, Michael McManus, and Todd Hockney to commit a heist when they believed they were about to steal $91 million of cocaine. While the shootout escalates, Söze murders Todd, Michael, and Arturo than Dean before he set the boat on fire.
Arkosh provided a sketch for the San Pedro Police Department and Agent Jack Baer with the portrait revealing that Verbal and Söze are the same person.
It wasn't no surprise later when Söze came to the hospital and murdered Kovash for revealing his existence.
- Despite being Hungarian, his first and last name are Russian:
- "Arkosh" means "Arkush"
- "Arkosh kovash" means "Arkush Pig"
- "kovash" means "Fork"
- At first, the Hungarians were willing to buy their mobster, Arturo Marquez, from the Argentinians because he's knows Keyser's real identity. Ironically, he became a witness of Söze's real identity after seeing him murdering Dean Keaton.
